All content of that guy? What? Clara is the cook, not him! OK, I know, he made some of the video, but most of it was Clara! The credit should go to her.

  10. I just got your book; and my dd insisted we read it cover to cover. You are helping another generation through some tough economic times by sharing what you went through during the Great Depression. It could very well be that countlesss children will go to bed tonight with full bellies and be spared hunger and deprivation because of what you have shared with us all. I pray for continued good health and God’s continued blessing on your life for helping othersGod bless you Miss Clara.

  15. Listening to her stories of the Depression warms my heart to know we know nothing of the strife that Clara went through. I’m sure she gets a chuckle to hear people call our current state a depression. Her recipe’s are made from scratch, simple and natural. Everything is home made! I will continue to wish that Clara lives a long and happy life. This world will be lost when people like her are no longer here with us. God bless you Clara and please continue to share with us your stories and recipes

    Hi Clara,
I have made 2 loaves of bread, using a dutch Oven and Sou Dough starter YUM!
I canned MEAT this last weekend, as I do not live ina snowy climate. Pork, chicken, and beef, using a Pressure Canner. Should last 2 to 3 yrs on a shelf.
In these times ansd coming Economic collapse, YOU are a blessing!

  22. @roughouserosie I got one of those at Target in the house design department. That was a couple years ago. You know. . . where the candles and bric/brac for house design is. Also try party supply places. They have HUGE bowls for chips, etc.

  23. I bake my own bread too! It’s the best economic way to have great tasting bread at home! And still, more interesting than Discovery channel.
